Effect of Deformation Sequence and Coiling Conditions on Precipitation Strengthening in High Ti–Nb-Microalloyed Steels

چکیده

Abstract In this work, multipass torsion tests followed by coiling simulations under different conditions have been performed with a reference Nb (0.03 pct) and high Ti (0.1 pct)–Nb-microalloyed steel. the case of steel, estimated yield strengths close to or over 700 MPa were obtained for some researched. However, very significant effect previous austenite grain size strain accumulation on precipitation strengthening has also observed. As result, depending deformation sequence final cooling conditions, simulation temperatures that lead highest mechanical strength varied from 600 °C 500 °C. The increasing was mainly related higher phase transformation temperatures, which led lower driving force microalloying element diffusivity, resulting in formation less coarser precipitates.

Equilibrium Model of Precipitation in Microalloyed Steels

The formation of precipitates during thermal processing of microalloyed steels greatly influences their mechanical properties. Precipitation behavior varies with steel composition and temperature history and can lead to beneficial grain refinement or detrimental transverse surface cracks. This work presents an efficient computational model of equilibrium precipitation of oxides, sulfides, nitri...

Particle-Size-Grouping Model of Precipitation Kinetics in Microalloyed Steels

The formation, growth, and size distribution of precipitates greatly affects the microstructure and properties of microalloyed steels. The computational Particle-Size-Grouping (PSG) kinetic models were developed to simulate precipitate particle growth due to collision and diffusion mechanisms. Firstly, the standard PSG method for collision is clearly explained and verified. Then a new PSG metho...

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...

The Effects of Finish Rolling Temperature and Cooling Interrupt Conditions on Precipitation in Microalloyed Steels Using Small Angle Neutron Scattering

Small angle neutron scattering (SANS) was used to quantify the precipitate characteristics (i.e., mean precipitate size, number of precipitates, and distribution broadening) in X-70 and X-80 pipeline steel and in grades 80 and 100 microalloyed steel plate. The precipitate distributions measured for the different steels were correlated with the finish rolling temperature (FRT) and cooling interr...
